Sylvia Hoke is a branding photographer and a Squarespace Circle Member web designer.
Growing in her photography led Sylvia to expand her career into Art Direction, Styling, Branding & Marketing and Web Design. Her fascination with creating environments led her to creating stories….

As a creative visionary, Sylvia has expanded her talents from portrait, fashion and commercial photography into Branding & Marketing. Her ability to see your vision and bring it to life is exceptional. In addition to these offerings, she is professional, clearly communicates, actively listens and excels at production management. She offers stylized photography and custom packages designed to showcase your services. She helps her clients relate to the authentic person behind their brand, and helps brands grow their business.

Photography
As a mere teenager while thumbing through books at the Photographers Place in Soho, home to some of the most valued books in photography, when inspired by the late Richard Avedon. Astonished by his infamous image “Dovima With Elephants”, she decided right then and there photography was her future. Soon after she picked up her first camera, a Canon AE-1, and from there she says “everything clicked, my passion found me.”
She went on to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and photography quickly became her life. She is not attached with any specific style, her photographs differ from one to another. She loves the range of possibilities she gets to create specifically for each clientele’s needs.
She had the pleasure of exhibiting her landscape work, shown at the "African American Museum in Philadelphia" an exhibition curated by Deborah Willis, (2000 MacArthur Fellow award winner). The exhibition became a traveling exhibition reaching over a dozen cities. Her first solo exhibition was featured in Harrys Loft, NYC, a benefit to auction her work for an orphanage in Haiti, donating 100 percent of the proceeds. In addition, she exhibited her work in Milford New Jersey and Sao Bras Portugal at the Galeria do Museu, and the Art Viva Exhibition.
In between her schedule, Sylvia finds time to teach in NYC about the importance of headshots.
